A Gurnee man intentionally drove his car into a tree Wednesday during a roadway argument, seriously injuring himself and the Zion woman who was his passenger, authorities said.
He then accelerated as he drove east on 29th Street before he veered off the road and struck a tree, report said.Advertisement
After firefighters extricated the pair from the Nissan Murano, they were taken to the hospital with what police said were serious, but not life-threatening injuries. The man, whose identity has not yet been released, was charged with aggravated domestic battery and reckless conduct. After he is discharged from the hospital, he will be brought to the county jail, police said.
