Philadelphia police are investigating after Monday morning began with an attempted carjacking in Port Richmond.
Police say they got the call around 5:45 Monday morning to the area of 2200 block of Castor Avenue.Officers responded to Sepviva Street, blocking off the entire 3700 block around 7 a.m.In surveillance video provided to FOX 29, you can see a car pulled over with its flashers on. When it pulls away, you can see a man jump out of this sedan and another man run after him then, you can hear gunshots.
Philadelphia police say they do not believe anyone got shot—but their initial investigation reveals someone connected to the car, possibly the owner, fired the shots at an attempted car thief.The chaos unfolded right outside a new apartment building. Neighbors in the area say they woke up to the gunfire."I just heard the person running down the side of me, , and I’m like what’s going on? That’s why I looked out my window because it was too close to home," said Sean Taylor, neighbor.
