"HATE RISING: 07 October" is the latest in our series of roundtable discussions about Antisemitism in America and around the world. Rochester , N.Y. — New York Attorney General Letitia James is bringing in new efforts to curb gun violence in Rochester with a gun buyback event next weekend.

The Rochester Police Department will join forces with the AG's office to take in working and non-working unloaded firearms$25 per non-working, replica, antique, homemade or 3D printed gun “Every gun removed from this community is a potential crisis avoided and a horrible accident averted," James said in a statement. "The upcoming gun buyback event that my office is coordinating with local law enforcement and public officials will enable New Yorkers from throughout the region to dispose of unwanted guns in exchange for gift cards. Together, we will work tirelessly to protect Rochester residents and combat gun violence across the state.

The event will be held Saturday, Oct. 19 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Church of Love Faith Center on Exchange Street.
