“The weather, it just is perfect. It’s unseasonably warm,” said Tiffany McDonald, a local at the beach.Visitors and locals weigh in on the season. Not all reactions to the influx were the same. Some locals said they avoid the beach during spring break, while others said they welcome the energy. “I embrace it. I think, you know, the more people that come and enjoy this area the better it’s going to be for everybody — financially, as far as infrastructure and revenue to the city. I embrace it but as long as everyone behaves,” said Mark McDonald.“I have lived in Hawaii and Southern California and this beach beats all of those,” Gott said.ahead of the peak spring break period. Proposals include a stricter curfew for minors and a new criminal trespass law targeting parking lot loitering. One proposal would amend the existing midnight curfew to 10 p.m. for anyone under 18. Another would allow police to charge people with “criminal trespass by motor vehicle” for parking on private lots if proper warnings are posted and no business is being conducted there.“For the kids who don’t, you know, respect anything — yes. But the kids who, you know, actually obey the rules and, you know, go by what goes on, then, no, not really,” said Alyssa Patterson.The City of Gulf Shores approved a ban on alcohol on all public beaches, effective Sunday through April 28.
