Wednesday will bring mostly sunny skies with daytime highs in the low 90s. The heat index will climb just below 100 degrees as humidity begins to increase. Rain chances will be isolated, mainly in the afternoon hours. Rain chances will drop significantly Thursday and Friday as sunny skies continue to dominate.
Temperatures will climb into the low to mid 90s both days. This is when you’ll want to stay hydrated and limit outdoor activities during peak afternoon hours. The heat intensifies Saturday and Sunday. Daytime highs will reach the mid 90s, but the heat index will soar near 105 degrees — dangerous territory.
This is when heat-related illness becomes a real concern. Take precautions: drink plenty of water, check on elderly neighbors and pets, and avoid strenuous outdoor activity during the hottest parts of the day. Temperatures could climb into the upper 90s early next week, with a few spotty thundershowers possible mainly in the afternoons and evenings.
