David Fry delivered a go-ahead RBI single in the sixth inning to lift the host Cleveland Guardians to a 4-2 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday.
Fry joined Jose Ramirez in recording two hits to send the Guardians to their fifth win in their last six games.
The offense was just enough for rookie Tanner Bibee , who allowed two runs on three hits and struck out seven in six innings. Bibee walked four. William Contreras had an RBI single and Christian Yelich scored twice for the Brewers, who have lost three of their last five games. Cleveland tacked on an insurance run in the eighth. Josh Bell doubled to lead off the inning before being replaced by pinch runner Tyler Freeman, who scored on an error by Yelich on Gimenez's single.
