Cleveland scored its only runs via the long ball as well, with José Ramírez and Josh Naylor delivering solo shots in the first and third innings off Tyler Anderson .
Anderson pitched free and easy out of the windup for most of his eight innings, striking out four and allowing just four hits and a walk on 94 pitches. He retired 15 of 16 batters he faced after Naylor’s home run before Ramírez singled in the eighth.Xzavion Curry, appearing out of the bullpen for the first time since his Sept. 3 start against Tampa Bay, allowed three hits in the eighth, including a two run home run to Randal Grichuk just inside the foul pole in right.
