Spencer Howard makes his Guardians' debut with Cleveland needing a win to earn a series split.
DETROIT -- Stephen Vogt said he’s going to let his eyes tell him what kind of pitcher Spencer Howard is. Don’t get the wrong idea, he’s read the scouting reports, but he hasn’t taken a deep dive on him just yet because he wants to see Howard in person.A beach day in the midst of a big-league storm: Guardians breakfast
Vogt’s eyes will be talking to him today when the Howard makes his first start in a Cleveland uniform against a Tiger team that has taken two out of three games from his team in this four-game series. The Guardians acquired Howard for cash from the Giants last weekend. He’ll be taking left-hander Logan Allen’s spot in the rotation. Howard’s last big-league appearance was June 29 and his last start was June 14.
