The guardian of a victim of the 2022 Robb Elementary mass shooting had a run-in Thursday morning with authorities as he was being escorted out of a courtroom and the incident was caught on camera. Brett Cross and his wife were at the Uvalde County Justice Center to attend the pre-trial hearing for former Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District Police Chief Pete Arredondo and former UCISD officer Adrian Gonzales. Arredondo, who many consider to have been the incident commander for the Robb Elementary shooting response, is facing 10 counts of child endangerment. Gonzales, one of the first to arrive at the school that day, faces 29 counts.
He said on social media that he and his wife, "weren't even allowed to make it into the courtroom. My wife and I were assaulted by the sheriff's dept." Cross and is seen being escorted out of the building where he begins to argue with the deputies. During the argument, he looks to fall backward and the deputies are seen holding him down while his wife also falls during the encounter. After a few minutes, Cross is back on his feet and saying some harsh words to the deputies about their treatment of him and his wife.
