Guan Eng did not receive RM2 million bribe, says lawyer

Lawyer Gobind Singh Deo says based on contradictory witness testimonies, the RM2 million ex-Penang chief minister Lim Guan Eng supposedly received went to someone else. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, January 17, 2023.

“In the trial of this case in this court, Azli and Ibrahim, who were the 28th and 29th prosecution witnesses, respectively, testified that the RM2 million was given to Lim. However, the request to play the video was objected to by deputy public prosecutor Wan Shaharuddin Wan Ladin on the grounds that the video was not relevant to Wan Firdaus.

The court then ordered the witness to submit a copy of the WhatsApp conversation tomorrow, and for the trial to resume tomorrow as well.
