Geelong forward Gryan Miers was lucky not to give away a free kick but could be fined for throwing St Kilda big man Rowan Marshall’s boot away during their AFL clash on Saturday night. Marshall was carrying his right boot in his hand as he was running towards the boundary line during the second quarter at GMHBA Stadium after it slipped off moments before.
Gryan Miers throws Rowan Marshall’s boot away. Forced to toss his boot away to compete in the ruck contest, Marshall decided to worry about the boot later and make the ball his priority. Seeing a devious opportunity, Miers, who was trailing in behind Marshall and Geelong ruck Rhys Stanley, picked the boot up behind Marshall’s back and threw it away while his Saints opponent wasn’t looking.
