Groveport Madison High School is boosting security and safety measures for the next week after police reported two carloads of people showed up at the school for retaliation."We believe obviously they had no purpose to be there and that they were there to attempt to retaliate on somebody that potentially was at after-school activities," Det. Josh Gilbert, with the Groveport Police Department, said.
Gilbert said students told school staff they were hearing threats regarding a similar situation on Friday, so both the high school and law enforcement stepped up security. "We’re definitely seeing a trend, as we’ve seen amongst the younger generation, that they can be very violent, and it can be in broad daylight, at night, public, private, so that’s something we are law enforcement are trying to adapt to," Gilbert said.
