A North Carolina man found dead near an abandoned house was apparently mistaken for a Halloween prop by a groundskeeper mowing the lawn, according to the victim's family.
A groundskeeper mowed around a dead man's body next to an abandoned house thinking he was a Halloween prop, according to the victim's loved ones. Robert Owens, 34, was reportedly last seen by family on Oct. 1, about a week before authorities found him face down and half naked in the yard next to a China Grove, North Carolina, house that has apparently been empty for a long time, Queen City News first reported.
