A ground stop was issued at BWI airport, Reagan National, Dulles and Richmond due to a strong chemical odor at an air traffic control center affecting controllers.

A ground stop has been issued at several airports in the Washington, D.C., region, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy announced Friday evening. The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating a strong odor at Potomac Terminal Radar Approach Control , which manages air traffic in the area, according to Duffy.

The ground stop affects Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport , Washington Dulles International Airport , Baltimore-Washington International Airport and Richmond International Airport , according to Duffy.
