Jenkins said the organization has been directly interacting with the players over the last few weeks, discussing Nichols’ death, how they should respond and what the next steps will be. He said they left it up to each player if they wanted to watch the video or not. Jenkins said he was particularly moved by a CNN interview with Nichols’ family, the emotion in his mother’s voice and the responsibility he felt in seeing Nichols’ stepfather wearing a Grizzlies hat.
