Recovering addict Roxy-Emma will speak at the NSW drug summit, but plenty of other people are angry about being left off the invitation list.
A 19-year-old recovering addict will lend her voice to a drug summit in Griffith that will help shape NSW drug policy.Roxy-Emma McAliece reckons she is a normal 19-year-old, who works while studying, loves Christmas, and has a cat named Dog."I didn't care what I was eating, what I was doing, who I was seeing as long as I got that drug," she said.
"I would have liked to put forward some of the situations we find being mental health workers, what we notice, what we find," she said.The managers of two Griffith medical practices also told the ABC none of their GPs had been invited to the summit.Griffith Mayor Doug Curran said the local council was also left off the invitation list.
The summit is an election promise aimed at bringing together service providers and people with lived experiences to inform the state's drug policy.
