Ellen Pompeo, who gave life to 'Grey's Anatomy' lead Meredith Grey, is preparing to leave the show after 19 long years.
The tiny promise was echoed by "Grey's Anatomy" creator Shonda Rimes in her Instagram tribute to Ellen.
Posting a photo of the two of them together, Shonda said "This isn’t a goodbye, it’s a see ya later!" "What a wild ride these past 19 seasons have been. None of it could have been possible without the incomparable Ellen Pompeo, the one and only Meredith Grey," Shonda said tagging the actress., Ellen took a step back from "Grey's Anatomy" to pursue other projects.
"Meredith's storyline ended with her character's decision to leave Seattle for Boston, where she accepted a position with the Catherine Fox Foundation to research Alzheimer's disease. There have been far more dramatic exits on the series — and Meredith's new job certainly leaves the door open to guest appearances," Kelly Wynne reported on People.
