Former GreysAnatomy stars Jesse Williams and Sarah Drew will reprise their roles as Jackson Avery and April Kepner in the season 18 finale.
Stars Jesse Williams and Sarah Drew are set to return to Grey's Anatomy in the upcoming season 18 finale. The series, which was created by Shonda Rhimes for ABC in 2005, is the longest-running scripted primetime show on the network. Grey's follows Ellen Pompeo's character Meredith Grey on her journey from intern to chief of general surgery at the fictional Seattle Grace Hospital.
However, there are many actors who haven't lasted through the entire series run who remain synonymous with the series. Two of the more prominent of these are Jesse Williams as Jackson Avery and Sarah Drew as April Kepner, who both debuted as recurring characters during season 6 before being upgraded to the main cast in season 7.
The actors' appearance in the finale will be the perfect capper to season 18. This season has been full of reunions both large and small, beginning with the reintroduction of Dr. Addison Montgomery, played by Kate Walsh, who previously hadn't been seen since she exited the series in season 8. The season doubled down on the surprises by also bringing back former characters Dr. Ellis Grey , Nick Marsh , and Dr. Koracick .
Grey's Anatomy is leading up to an explosive season finale, as usual. The series has already been renewed for season 19, so fans won't have to worry about any cliffhangers being followed up. However, this may be the last time that Japril is onscreen for the time being, so there will hopefully be some closure on their end coming soon.
