Former kickboxing world champion and controversial social media influencer Andrew Tate was reportedly arrested in Romania on charges of human trafficking, rape, and forming an organized crime group.
Alongside his brother Tristan and two other unnamed individuals, he was taken into custody by the Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism in Bucharest.
Prior to his arrest, Tate recently made the headlines for his brief exchange with climate change activist Greta Thunberg. The divisive figure is known for his comments against ideas that he believes are being promulgated by the so-called “matrix” for the sake of keeping people in leashes. The 19-year-old and her ideals were his latest target.
Via Twitter, Tate called out Thunberg, saying “ Hello @GretaThunberg I have 33 cars. My Bugatti has a w16 8.0L quad-turbo. My TWO Ferrari 812 competizione have 6.5L v12s. This is just the start. Please provide your email address so I can send a complete list of my car collection and their respective enormous emissions.”
