Gov. Greg Abbott is hitting the campaign trail for Donald Trump as the former president's campaign leans on the Texas Republican 's border crackdown to highlight Trump 's signature issue. Abbott led a town hall hosted by the Trump campaign in Mesa , Ariz. on Tuesday night, where he stressed the importance of the battleground state in the election, touted his border efforts in Texas and defended his recent promotion of the state removing more than 1 million voters from its rolls.
Greg Abbott says Texas purged 1 million registered voters to fight fraud. The ACLU has questions 'I admitted that it does suppress the vote of dead people,' Abbott quipped to applause. 'It does suppress the vote of people who moved out of the state.' He also continued to claim that the state found thousands of potential noncitizens on the rolls, without citing specific evidence.
