Greens state MP Amy MacMahon is in a serious condition with head and suspected spinal injuries after a car crash at a busy Brisbane intersection. MacMahon’s Toyota Prius collided with a Hyundai i30 at the intersection of Baines Street and Main Street in Kangaroo Point. The intersection, near the Pineapple Hotel, has traffic lights and two turning lanes from Baines Street onto Main Street.
Police said initial investigations suggested the Hyundai was heading south on Main Street when it collided with the Prius, which was turning right from Baines Street. Emergency responders transported 37-year-old MacMahon to Princess Alexandra Hospital, where she remained undergoing treatment. Max Chandler-Mather, a federal MP from the Greens, confirmed MacMahon was conscious and while her injuries were severe, they were not life-threatening. “She is recovering in hospital. Thank you to first responders and amazing healthcare workers that have been looking after her,” he said in a statement on Monday nigh

Greens leader Adam Bandt believes that Labor's tax package is still too generous and that the money should be used for health and social services for low- and middle-income earners.
