Owner Rico Torres said rent was too high at the Hildebrand Avenue location to continue operating. The cafe will close Sept. 15.

Greenhouse , an Olmos Park -area cafe created by the owners of lauded upscale Mexican restaurant Mixtli , is closing next month, less than a year since opening. 'The rents were just too high,' owner Rico Torres said Sunday in the coffee shop at 223 E. Hildebrand Ave . An Instagram post on Friday hinted the cafe could open in a different location.

Here's the free stuff you can get at Chicken Salad Chick's grand opening near UTSA Greenhouse will continue selling everything on its menu — including the café de olla summer special and egg muffin sandwich — until the cafe's last day on Sept. 15, Torres said. The cafe opened in January in a shopping center space just south of Olmos Park that had been occupied by Chick’nCone.
