Transport minister Loke Siew Fook said his ministry planned to transform the transportation sector in the coming years, with the end goal of becoming a net-zero nation by 2050.

Drawing attention to methanol as a sustainable fuel, he also said he would follow up with Petronas on how Malaysia could become a green fuel bunkering hub in the maritime industry. GLPC serves as a platform for industry leaders and stakeholders to discuss and share low-carbon initiatives aimed at promoting sustainability in the transport and logistics sector.

He added that the transport ministry had adopted several “green logistics” strategies that were aligned with the national transport policy.
