The Greece Historical Society is hosting its annual fundraiser, the Sweet Sensations Strawberry & Dessert Tasting Festival, at the Greece Town Hall Pavilion on Monday, June 17, 2024. Greece, N.Y. — The Greece Historical Society is hosting its 50th annual fundraiser, the "Sweet Sensations" Strawberry & Dessert Tasting Festival, at the Greece Town Hall Pavilion on Monday.will be entertaining children and Brian Hardick will DJ and MC the event.
The annual festival began in 1974 when members of the Greece Historical Society transformed their monthly meeting into a strawberry social and invited the community to join them on the grounds of their original location at Newcomb Road. When the group relocated to the museum on Long Pond Road, the event turned into a fundraiser to help cover the cost of the new location and its upkeep.
Over the years, the event evolved from a society of members baking treats for the annual social to what it has become today, with local businesses and entertainment for people of all ages. The festival will run from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. or until supplies last. Admission is $10 for people 13 and over, $5 for kids ages 6 - 12, and free for children five and under.
