It's shaping up to be an unsettled day

Greater Manchester is set for an unsettled day, with some residents being urged to be aware of possible flooding. Rain will hit the region throughout Tuesday , with showers and heavier downpours at times.

Every borough will be hit by rain at some point today, with the Met Office forecast showing changing conditions each hour across the region. Some parts of Greater Manchester, including Wigan and Horwich, have been hit by an amber flood alert by the Environment Agency. The alert covers areas surrounding the Upper River Douglas, with the Environment Agency warning people in those communities that flooding is 'possible'. "Avoid using low lying footpaths or entering areas prone to flooding. Start acting on your flood plan if you have one."
