Family and friends have today gathered to farewell 95-year-old great grandmother Clare Nowland, who was Tasered by a police officer inside her care home in the NSW Snowy Mountains on May 18. 9News MORE:
about the "beautiful mum, nana and great-grandmother" to thank hospital staff after the aged care resident was admitted to Cooma Base Hospital in a critical condition on May 18.
"With great sadness, the Nowland family share that our beloved Clare passed away whilst surrounded by the love and support of her family," the statement said.Clare Nowland's family have published a tribute to thank hospital staff for caring for their 'beautiful mum, nana and great-grandmother'. Less than an hour before her death, Senior Constable Kristian White was charged with recklessly causing grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and common assault.
The 33-year-old has been suspended from duty with pay and is due to appear in Cooma Local Court on July 5.Senior Constable Kristian White has been stood down with pay after Tasering 95-year-old Clare Nowland."The Nowland family have been informed of this development and our thoughts and prayers are with Mrs Nowland this evening," Webb said.
