Grant Gustin, the longtime star of The Flash, expresses interest in a revival of the show, but only with creative control and a focus on new storylines.
Grant Gustin , the actor who portrayed Barry Allen, aka The Flash , for a decade in the Arrowverse , has hinted at his openness to a revival of the beloved superhero series. The Arrowverse , known for its interconnected DC superhero shows, came to an end in December 2024 with the finale of Superman & Lois, marking the last chapter of The CW's DC TV lineup. The Flash , which ran for nine seasons, was the longest-running show in the franchise, concluding its journey in 2023.
During a recent appearance on the podcast Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum, Gustin was asked about the possibility of returning to the world of The Flash. While he didn't commit to anything concrete, he expressed a strong desire to revisit the DC property, but with certain conditions. He stated that he would be more interested in a project that allowed for creative input and exploration of new storylines.Gustin also revealed that he would be open to getting involved in a hypothetical follow-up series as a producer, a role he didn't have during the original run of The Flash. This suggests that he wants to have a more active say in shaping the future of the show, if it ever were to be revived. Although there are currently no official plans for a The Flash revival, Gustin's comments have reignited speculation among fans. The success of other DC superhero revivals, coupled with Gustin's continued interest, suggests that a return to Central City is certainly not out of the question.
