New Yorkers reflect on crime and safety in the city
A 66-year-old grandma was found stabbed to death inside her Brooklyn home this week — leaving neighbors shocked over the loss of the “matriarch” as her killer remains on the loose.
She lived alone after the fire – until a young man, who appeared to be in his 20s, became a frequent presence at her home, often bringing pals around, locals said.Tim Walz's coaching history called out after ex-football players hit DNC stage: 'It's strange'5 “And then the police came and he came back and they allowed him to pick up some stuff. Then they had him leave.”“There’s nothing bad you could say about someone like that,” he said. “It’s crazy. I didn’t even know she was murdered when I spoke to a police officer that night. I thought maybe she’d just passed, but I’m finding out this morning that she was murdered.
Neighbor Eileen Williams said Jones was a long-time resident who “liked a lot of company, and that’s not good.”Another neighbor, Linda Sica, 50, said Jones “kept mostly to herself” and “didn’t talk about her upbringing or private life at all.”
