) - The case of a Chunchula man accused of trading child sexual abuse material is now moving to a grand jury . Forty-six-year-old Christopher Benedum was arrested in August during an operation only FOX10 News cameras were there to witness.
Investigators say Benedum became a target after a tip about illegal material being shared in a Discord chat. The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit monitored his online activity for weeks before making the arrest, according to authorities. Benedum faces five counts of possession of child sexual abuse material and two counts of distribution.
