A Franklin County grand jury voted not to indict Columbus police officers who returned fire against armed robbery suspects on a highway.

Officers pursued the car from Hilliard-Rome Road to I-70 near Mound Street, where the suspects were stopped. Shootings by police are routinely presented to grand juries, who then decide if a crime has been committed under the law. The county grand jury on Friday voted not to indict the officers involved in the shootout.
