Lizzo rules over a female-focused 2020 Grammy nominees list with a whopping eight nominations.
LONDON, ENGLAND - NOVEMBER 07: Lizzo performs at O2 Academy Brixton on November 07, 2019 in London, While she was always expected to walk away with several nods, ending up on top and beating out names like Beyoncé, Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga is somewhat surprising. The musician is up for all four of the major prizes, as well as categories in pop, R&B and even Best Urban Contemporary Album.
Behind the “Truth Hurts” singer and rapper come both Lil Nas X and Billie Eilish, who both landed half a dozen nominations for the songs and albums that helped establish them as names to watch. Ariana Grande comes in third place with five categories where she could take home just her second trophy.
