FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Alaska already produces some cereal grains in-state, but researchers, farmers and brewers recognize there’s room for growth.

But he said if the Small Grains Project can come up with a reliable, quality wheat cultivar that’s ready for combining within 100 days after planting, that could foment change.
