Graham Platner secured the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate in Maine with 72% of the vote. In his victory speech, he addressed themes of redemption, vowed to be a senator "who cannot be boUght," and framed his campaign as a movement of working individuals against a corrupt establishment, setting the stage for a general election showdown with Sen. Susan Collins.

Graham Platner secured the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate in Maine following the primary election held on Tuesday, capturing 72 percent of the vote. in his victory speech at an election watch party in his hometown of Blue Hill, Maine, Platner addressed his campaign's core themes and his personal journey.

He spoke extensively about the concept of redemption, acknowledging past mistakes while framing his political mission as a continuous effort to improve.

"Redemption is not just some simple or easy destination, it's a journey," Platner said. "I've made mistakes in my life, mistakes that I regret, that I live with, that I continue to learn from. And I'm still far from perfect. But every day, I wake up, I try to be a little bit better and a little bit kInder than I was the day before.

" Platner's campaign is built on a message of resisting corporate and wealthy influences. He promised to be a senator who "cannot be bought" and to represent those who "cannot afford to grab a senator," a line that drew thunderous applause. He directly attacked his Republican opponent, incumbent Senator Susan Collins, labeling her "spineless and corrupt" and accusing her of serving special interests rather than the people of Maine.

"The truth is,Susan Collins doesn't serve us," Platner declared. "She serves Donald Trump. she serves the Epstein class. She serves her corporate donors and the corrupt political system that has rigged the economy against us. She does not serve us,and so we'll defeat Susan Collins.

" Central to Platner's argument is the idea of a collective movement against a "ruling class" that has burdened working Mainers. He emphasized that his campaign isn't about his personal story yet about the shared hardships of the state's working families.

"This is a movement about us, about the far-too-many, working far-too-difficult, and struggling far-too-much, at the hands of the ruling class," he stated. Platner expressed deep love for Maine and vowed to stand up to billionaires and greedy corporations, promising to champion the dreams of his constituents regardless of challenge or expense. he as well touched on issues of affordability, which is a pillar of his platform, and affirmed his willingness to make any sacrifice for the state, saying, "I've been willing to die for my land.

There is nothing that I will not do for the state of Maine.

" The general election contest between Platner and Collins will right now intensify as they vie for Maine's Senate seat
