The Rangers and Scotland hero wanted to see more aggression from the home side
Graeme Souness reckons Scotland have should 'emptied' one of the England players and that the friendly niceties didn't help the cause.
The Scots hero wasn't having the no blood and thunder aspect of the Hampden Park ding-dong as Phil Foden, Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane put Steve Clarke and Co to the sword. It was only a Harry Maguire goal that gave the home side a glimmer of a chance but in the end Souness raged. He insists Scotland did not do nearly enough to get the loud and proud Tartan Army involved in making life difficult for Gareth Southgate's men.
The pundit reckons the act of helping the opposition up off the pitch doesn't belong when it comes to the Auld Enemy, but does concede the side he earned over 50 caps for were outclassed by their adversaries. He said on Channel 4: "It was a friendly. If nothing else you have to empty someone, take a card, get the crowd involved. This is a passionate football crowd and we gave them nothing to shout about tonight.
"I accept that England are a fabulous team but from a Scotland point of view, they couldn't get the crowd involved because they didn't want to show the required aggression for me. It is a friendly, but it's a Scotland-England game. And when I see in this game players picking each other up off the ground...it shouldn't happen in this game, sorry.
