Organizers say it’s designed to be welcoming for people who want to check out Austin’s growing two-step scene, whether they’re seasoned dancers or just curious and ready to try it out.
"This is part of our Waterloo Wellness initiative," said Bergara, "We're going to have Two-Step Night, which is one of our dance nights. It'll be open to the public, thanks to some great sponsors, and available at no cost. We'll have a live band and start with a formal two-step instruction. There is no skill set needed, no partner needed.
Just come as you are.
" Voorhes added, "It's a very approachable dance, and it's super fun. Low stakes, very simple. So we welcome any experience, if you've never danced before, if you have danced before, you can come, and we will teach you a little bit of something for the dancers who know what they're doing.

Over the last few years, Austin’s two-step scene has exploded in popularity, attracting longtime dancers and newcomers alike. Part of the appeal? It’s social, active, and uniquely Texan.
"It's definitely been on high trend here in Austin," said Voorhes, "And honestly, across the world it's just high trending right now. Especially here in Austin, there's live music with incredible musicians every single night of the week. So it's just a thriving community of dancers where you can go out every single night and have fun doing something that's active and creative.
" Events like this make it easy for people to connect, meet new friends, and experience a little piece of classic Austin culture, all while dancing outdoors at one of the city’s most scenic parks.
