Some practices fare better than others
A total of 12 GP surgeries in Nottinghamshire saw fewer than half of patients in face-to-face appointments last month, according to NHS data. The data also reveals that a total of 616,430 appointments were made at practices in Nottinghamshire in January.
Some 432,755 of those took place face-to-face, which works out to 70% percent of all appointments - just above the national average of 69 percent. This comes after the Primary Care Network data earlier this month showed that 570,000 appointments were offered by 131 surgeries across the county in December, 2022.
These statistics look into everything from the total number of appointments offered, how many were face-to-face and how many were on the same day for surgeries across the county. The NHS says the rate of appointments per 1,000 patients varies greatly due to individual practice differences, such as how appointment books are managed, GP system suppliers and small list sizes caused by practices in the process of closing or merging.. Radford Medical Practice, in Ilkeston Road, saw just 36.
Saxon Cross Surgery, in Church Street, Stapleford, was the second lowest; only seeing 41.6 percent of patients in person. Practices in Aspley, Hucknall and Clifton also featured on the list.
