Govt mulls allowing foreign labour in more sectors
Half a million foreign workers will be admitted into Malaysia in stages to ease a pressing labour shortage. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, January 21, 2023.
He said the plan now only allowed the recruitment of foreign workers in the manufacturing, construction, plantations, agriculture, and services sectors and sub-sectors. “After three months, and once we have solved the problem , we will consider the retail sector and others,” he said.
