The Health Department will also begin discussions with food banks and work with them to make sure resources are available to assist Alaskans who may need them, the governor stated in a release.to tell two federal judges whether it will comply with court orders that it continue to fund SNAP, the nation’s biggest food aid program, using contingency funds during the government shutdown. Dunleavy’s spokesperson Jeff Turner told Alaska’s News Source the federal judges’ decision would not affect the governor’s declaration. The declaration will end in 30 days or when the government reopens, whichever comes first.
