Government in talks to implement MOT ‘holiday period’ until coronavirus lockdown is over
Officials are meeting this morning to implement a 'holiday period' during the time lockdown so that drivers do not have to take their vehicles in for the annual check until the crisis is over.The move would mean vehicles with their MOT due between now and the end of the lockdown would not need to get their car testedThe decision is being treated as ‘urgent’ by the Department of Transport with an announcement expected in the next few days.
Garages were specifically excluded from those businesses that had to close, but you should check with your local mechanic about what their opening hours are.
