Gov’t work continues despite surge of COVID-19 cases in the civil service –Roque

The government will never shut down and instead continue to render public service despite reported increase in coronavirus cases involving workers in the civil service, according to a Palace official.Presidential spokesman Harry Roque said the government will continue to function as alternative work arrangements have been adopted in offices to ensure uninterrupted service while protecting the health of state personnel.

“Iyan po ang dahilan kung bakit nagpi-fifty percent workforce po ang gobyerno para kung magkasakit po iyong ilan ay mayroon pa pong pupuwedeng magpatuloy po ng pagtrabaho sa gobyerno. ,” he said. The commission has allowed alternative work arrangements, including work-from-home arrangement, skeleton workforce, four-day or compressed workweek, and staggered working hours, in government agencies during community quarantine.
