Texas Gov. Greg Abbott will deliver his 2023 State of the State address Thursday night beginning at 7 p.m. The address will be given at an undisclosed business in San Marcos, Texas, and will be available to view on air and online.
SAN MARCOS, Texas — Texas Gov. Greg Abbott will deliver his 2023 State of the State address Thursday night beginning at 7 p.m.
A news release from the governor’s office said Abbott will “update Texans on his priorities for the 88th Legislative Session, highlight exceptional Texans from across the state, and outline his plans for building the Texas of tomorrow.”for the current legislative session. Among Patrick’s priorities are stopping local COVID-19 mandates, ending tenure at Texas universities and using surplus revenue to bump homestead exemptions from $40,000 to $70,000.
“Texas is the apex of opportunity, where infinite possibilities allow our people to climb from humble beginnings to the heights of success,” Abbott wrote in the news release. “This 88th Legislative Session is an opportunity for the Legislature and statewide leaders to transform the lives of Texans for generations and build an even brighter future for our state.”
