ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Gov. Mike Dunleavy unveiled his $14.2 billion budget for FY 2025 on Thursday, which will include increased funding for education and a full statutory PFD.
Office of Management and Budget Director Lacey Sanders said due to reduced oil prices, $150 million is being drawn from the Constitutional Budget Reserve in 2025, and in 2026 the proposed budget will draw $1.5 billion from that savings account.
Dunlavy has repeatedly criticized the Biden Administration for limiting resource development in the state with more than 60 executive orders. His administration also plans to introduce a bill to the Legislature in the upcoming session that will improve educational outcomes and add additional funding.
