A new restaurant in Katy is all about french fries. Not Your Average Fry features gourmet...
features gourmet fries as the base of each dish, dressed up with toppings to make a complete meal. The restaurant, located at 2501 Fry Road, will host its grand opening Dec. 6.Each menu item features a different topping, but the core of the meal is always the humble french fry, said Lenar Cage, owner of Not Your Average Fry. The fries are topped with carne asada, Philly cheesesteak, chili, crispy chicken or Buffalo chicken.
"I'm originally from Massachusetts, and in the New England area and in California, these concepts are really common," Cage said."I wanted to bring it to Katy."While the concept isn't entirely unique, the recipes are. Each dish was created by Cage and his wife."We're hoping people will come in and give us suggestions for what fry they want to try next," he said."Our goal is to really engage with our customers and let them tell us what they want.
