new robin aka maps
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Warning: Spoilers for Batman: The Brave and the Bold #12 ahead!
Close After the threat has been dealt with, Batman admits to himself that while their team-up was initially born of necessity, he still thinks of Maps as Robin and will continue to gauge her skills in the future. Tim Drake became the third Robin after deducing Batman's identity in Batman #441, and has continued to operate as Robin through the modern day. The fourth Robin, Stephanie Brown, is arguably the least well known: her tenure as Robin lasted only three issues #126-128) before she was fired for disobeying orders in the field. Stephanie would later go on to join the trio of Batgirls alongside Barbara Gordon and Cassandra Cain.
Maps' tenure at Gotham Academy has always been closely associated with the role of Robin. Notably, she teams up with and befriends Damian Wayne in Gotham Academy #7; his subsequent gift to Maps of a batarang later leads Tim Drake to believe that Maps is a sanctioned member of the then-active "We Are Robin" youth vigilante movement in issue #11.
Batman: The Brave and the Bold #10-12, "Mother's Day," marks Maps' first official mission as Robin, with Batman enlisting her aid to track down her missing Man-Bat friend, Tristan Grey. Batman continues to think of Maps as "Robin" throughout these issues, although he refuses to say so aloud; it is only after Maps frees Batman from the control of a vampiric monster that Batman relents.
