exclusively breastfeed for the six months recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the World Health Organization. There are a variety of reasons why breastfeeding directly from the source can be difficult, including but not limited to: latching issues, a fussy or sick baby, birth complications, lack of support or education, discomfort or pain, exhaustion, and inadequate milk supply.
