Gorr the God Butcher looms over the ThorLoveAndThunder cast in the latest poster for the eagerly anticipated MCU movie.
Christian Bale's Gorr the God Butcher gets a menacing appearance in the new Thor: Love & Thunder poster. Chris Hemsworth returns as the God of Thunder in Marvel's 29th film, which is directed by Taika Waititi. The Phase 4 MCU movie will also see other Thor mainstay characters return, such as Natalie Portman as Jane Foster and Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie. Love & Thunder also features new faces on the cast list, including Russell Crowe as Zeus and Bale as Gorr.
While serving as a sequel to 2017's Thor: Ragnarok, Love & Thunder is also set after the events of Avengers: Endgame, which concluded with Thor leaving Earth with the Guardians of the Galaxy. In Thor: Love & Thunder, Star-Lord and his band of misfits are set to join the titular hero on his quest to find inner peace. Before long, though, Thor must suit up to stop Gorr the God Butcher from destroying all gods.
Marvel also just dropped a brand new trailer for Thor: Love & Thunder, which provided a first look at Bale's Gorr. During the trailer, Gorr appears on screen looking terrifying and announcing his plans to eliminate every god that has ever existed. The jam-packed trailer also gave a first look at another Thor newcomer - Crowe - as his Zeus addresses a crowd in Olympus.
Bale's Gorr is highly anticipated, and both the trailer and poster above deliver on the terrifying villain's look and demeanor. The character's sinister yellow glare is enough the send shivers down the spine of any god, and his looming presence in the poster dabbles in elements of horror. Now that Gorr has officially been revealed, expect to learn a lot more about him as Thor: Love & Thunder nears its July release date.
