Republicans are nearing control of the U.S. House of Representatives after an incumbent Colorado Democrat conceded to her GOP challenger Sunday evening.on social media Sunday evening, saying the race for Colorado's 8th Congressional District didn't end with "the outcome we had hoped for" and pledging to return to Washington, D.C. to finish her term.
Despite the concession, the Associated Press has not yet called the race in favor of Republican Gabe Evans, who currently serves in theRep. Caraveo's defeat gives Republicans a strong chance to maintain their majority in the House. The GOP has 215 of the 218 seats it needs for control of the House with 17 races yet to be called by the AP.
