Google’s flagship Android device comes with an ultrawide camera and reverse wireless charging.

Google on Wednesday announced its latest Android flagship, the $699 Pixel with a mid-range processor, an ultrawide camera and 5G support. The Pixel 5 is IPX8 waterproof, comes with an ultrawide rear-facing camera, 8GB of RAM and reverse wireless charging, meaning that users can share the Pixel’s battery with other devices, such as a pair of wireless earbuds, without having to plug anything in., but it does allow Google to offer the phone at a lower price point than the Pixel 4.

Google says that putting the Pixel into Extreme Battery Saver mode can make its battery last up to 48 hours. The Pixel 5 will have stiff competition with the recently announced $699 Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G, which comes with a better Snapdragon 865 processor. The Pixel 5 will also be Google’s first 5G-enabled smartphone, a feature already seen in Android competitors such as Samsung and OnePlus, but not yet in iPhones. Google first got into the smartphone hardware market in 2016 with the first Pixel device. But compared to Apple and Samsung, Google lags far behind in sales with onlyGoogle also launched two major products at its annual hardware event Wednesday: a revamped Chromecast and a Nest Audio smart speaker.
