Will Bard be a success over time? Google TechNave
Today, Google has announced the release of its OpenAI chat bot - Bard. The company first announced it a few weeks ago and the open access to Bard is now rolling out in the US and UK first.
With the open access underway, Google is releasing Bard as an early experiment first. Like ChatGPT, Bard will function similarly to boost productivity, giving ideas and tips, and explaining complex topics in a simplistic manner. Currently, the team is getting feedback from testers to improve Bard further.
As we mentioned before, an optimised version of LaMDA is responsible for powering Bard and will keep updating it with more capable models over time. The research large language model can generate responses by selecting, one word at a time, from words that are likely to come next. So with the early experiment, LLM will get better at predicting and responding the more people use them.
On the other hand, Google did admit that Bard is not perfect yet. In fact, they admitted that Bard did help in some ways to write the blog post news but had to be editted by the team before posting. If you are interested, you can actually sign up and try Bard right over here. Bard is expected to be expanded to other countries and languages in the future.
