A Google Pixel 9 Pro user encountered an issue with their camera bar separating from the phone despite careful handling and use within the warranty period. Google's customer support response, citing the 90-day limit, has sparked concerns about the company's handling of warranty claims and customer satisfaction.
Although the Google Pixel 9 series may not have achieved the sales figures to displace established industry leaders, it has demonstrably broken internal sales records for the company, a significant accomplishment. While Google strives to avoid negative press, its handling of customer dissatisfaction in this instance raises concerns. A recent case involved a user who, three months prior, purchased a Google Pixel 9 Pro .
They diligently placed it in a case with a screen protector within the first hour of ownership and treated the phone with utmost care, avoiding any drops or misuse. Despite these precautions, the phone's camera bar began separating from the device. Upon contacting Google support, the user was informed that, as they had owned the phone for over 90 days, the company was unable to offer assistance. Google's policy allows customers to return products within 15 days of purchase. Pixel phones come with a one-year warranty, promising repair or replacement for any manufacturing defects. Given that the user asserts they did not damage the phone, Google support should have guided them towards warranty service instead of dismissing their concern. Even if the user endures the dislodged camera bar, it could compromise the phone's water resistance, potentially leading to further complications down the line. The user had previously experienced issues with their lenses fogging and the camera bar detaching without apparent cause, and in that instance, Google treated the unit as a return, waiving the charge for a new unit
